Description
Rudbeckia laciniata is a tall coneflower species with specimens able to grow upward of 10' tall. It is easily recognizable by its deeply cut gray-green leaves. The tall stems are divided and topped with 3" to 4" yellow flowers with greenish centers that turn brown as they mature.

Cultivation
Cut-leaf coneflower is found growing in moist, rich soil, in open woods or margins, and along water features. It is easy to grow in cottage gardens or borders where it will have plenty of room. It is not drought tolerant and will require watering to get it through dry spells, if planted in exposed areas. It might require support, particularly if grown in shaded areas. It can spread aggressively via underground stems. Plants have long, summer bloom periods that can be further extended by deadheading; July through October. Zones 4-8

A species with a stunning presence. It can provide several months of cut flowers.

Additional
A great food source for birds, makes for beautiful cut flowers and ornamental foliage, known as a pollinator favorite, pond margin plant, and stream margin plant.
